Holy cow, again I'd have a very hard time keeping my lips sealed. I'd be responding with something along the lines of " well he sure has you wrapped around his little finger"...I tend to get away with saying stuff like this because of my English accent, people find it amusing....omg I sound like an ass BAHAHAHA

I just want to vent about the most annoying pick up lines I hear - as in going home time for the dcks.

I have a parent whose child fusses when she dresses them to go home and she says "Don't worry I am not leaving you here." Excuse me but your child was happy all day long and why are you making daycare sound like purgatory? The child is fussing about leaving with YOU not about staying here with me. I just smile but it irks me.

Then another parent is like "If you don't get ready right now then I am going to leave you here." Once again....this parent makes daycare sound like a punishment.

And parents wonder why their kids fuss at drop off.
I would have totally said something.....not in a nasty way but in a very upfront way like, "Wow wouldn't that be lots more fun" lol frickin idiot people

Every time she says "Don't worry - I'm not leaving you here" I feel like saying something.

Like - what the heck is that supposed to mean? If daycare and a staying with me is so horrible then why did you choose this daycare?

Ugh. And the baby is crying about getting dressed to leave - not about staying.

It infuriates me each time I hear it . I smile but inwardly I am seething. It's a total Unikitty moment (if you've seen the lego movie that reference will make sense.) lol

I have had a mom ask her son why he always acts up when she picks him up. I always come back with Its a good sign when they don't want to go home from having so much fun. then I tell the child don't worry you will be back again tomorrow and play with your friends.

I have had to put a child in timeout for acting up at pick up time. The funniest thing is a few days later when boy was misbehaving again at pick up mom told him to behave before I put him in time out! I felt like saying - what is wrong with you - discipline your own child when you are here.

I'm not good on my feet. She said it in such a brazen way that it seemed reasonable until she left and I actually thought about it. It also made her a few minutes late, btw.

Lol !!! This post made me laugh !!!! There's nothing new under the sun is there ??
I grit my teeth at the babysitter comment , sure !! Exactly like that !!! I have had the 'I will leave you here ' comment too , it does make you feel as though they feel it to be a punishment !!
I wonder if our job of nurturing these little people who will one day be deciding our future will ever get the respect it deserves ??

Just keep saying things like I love being XXXX's childcare provider and keep saying it at every chance. In time maybe they will say it back.
