I feel the same way - I have a little one who is SO clumsy. He even falls just standing still. I hate it - my stomach flips and I feel kind of sick every time it happens (so, on a daily basis). I agree with mimi that I think part of our anxiety comes from how easily it would be for someone to blow the incident out of proportion.

I always get nervous when kids get hurt. I hate when they get hurt here, especially since we have heard of several children dying in HDC's, and when the home daycare business gets crapped on so much by the media. Aside from the usual bumps and bruises, i have only had one injury of note, when an dcb fell off the second last step as we were all heading down. He landed on his arm and cried like heck!I iced it, cuddled him, and kept him entertained but he would cry off and on. I called his dad to pick him him up to take him to the doctor. Dad didn't seem over the top worried but said he would keep an eye on him. He kept telling me they weren't mad, these things happen, you're a good provider, etc. The child went home, had lunch, napped, woke up favouring the other arm (because he slept on the hurt arm- oy!) but didn't complain about it after that. DCB came the next day and at pick up, his mom hugged me and reassured me he is fine and the child can get quite dramatic- as i have learned lol. (He hates getting his face wiped, bum cleaned after poop, etc.) That was a stressful 24 hrs or so and i thank the Lord that the parents are so cool with it because i guarantee if it was "That Parent" i know i would have got an earful and then some.

A few tips...

Always ensure that your child receives quality care by taking the time to investigate the provider and by asking for references! We simply cannot verify the claims of every daycare provider.
