    Parents...What did you say??

So kids say the cutest things was an awesome thread and I did have a good giggle reading them and then re-reading them to my husband last night. It almost makes me want more as moments like those are so precious

Well I'd love to hear some of the funny, odd, crazy and down right bizarre things parents have said to you. I'm not saying bad mouth them by any means or downplay a parents anxieties but I had such a good one last night, I couldn't possibly keep it to myself and didn't want to hijack the other thread....please folks share away.

So last night I had a parent call at about 7:30pm saying that her 13mth old had been sick. I mentioned that all my other daycare kids had been sick since the weekend. She said he had only been sick once and had no fever and was fine now. I just gave her a reminder of the sick policy and made it clear that he would not be accepted into daycare the following day(today). She said she gave her son a couple of bites of fajita and thinks it was most likely because he didn't like Mexican food....I had to fight the laughter as seriously woman, are you kidding me. Every other child has a stomach bug and some of the parents too. Mexican food, my arse!! lol Here comes the good part. After I squashed that ridiculous theory, she asked me if he had hit is head during the day and could be concussed!!! I almost fell off my chair. Jeez lady, neurotic much?!? I asked her if she honestly thought I wouldn't call her if her son had hit his head. It is my policy to call parents whenever there is a bump to the head even if it is minor. I really just wanted to tell her to pull herself together. She even told me that her husband had told her it wasn't concussion and to stop being so ridiculous. OMG some people are nuts. Every other person has a stomach bug, it couldn't be more obvious that your child has it too.

Let me take a guess......first time mom?

Mexican food, stomach bug, it's moot. He needs to stay home for 24 hours after a bout with ahem..."mexican food" LOL!

The funniest thing was texted to me the other day

DC dad- "How is bobby's penis?"
DC dad- "Sorry Torontokids, sent to the wrong person."

Heh heh, his other kid was at the dr. with his mom for his penis...I of course had to tease him about it at pick up.

I've also had the parents whose child is sick declare that it is because of teething even though the whole entire daycare has been sick already...yeah nice try.

I got a text from a mom once looking for one of her child's items. I texted back letting her know that it was in her backpack. I then told her to have a good weekend. I then got a text saying well I guess I can't be mad at her now (in so many words). I think she was also texting her husband at the same time but sent me the text by accident!

I think I have heard it all lol. One parent kept their kids home for Christmas break and then said how nice it is going to be for me to get some paid time off....ummmm no, just because your kids aren't here that doesn't mean I am not working. I had a parent tell me once that another parent was outside telling their child not to tell me they were sick that morning.

I love it when parents blame everything else on their children's illness other than just accepting the fact they are sick especially when it is going around.

Oh my gosh!! The texting stories made me LOL. The boob one would be so awkward hahaha. Good thing they were just sending naughty messages and not naughty pics!!!

I can't think of anything funny or overly odd that the parents have told me. I did have one dad say that his wife was really fertile which I thought was a strange thing to say but it wasn't a big deal. I had one family that would try and come up with a reason or excuse every time for why their child was a brat that day and I always just wanted to tell them it was because of their parenting! Thankfully I haven't had many parents who make up excuses....I don't usually put up with that nonsense lol.
