My husband works in the courts. There are certain jobs that are automatically recused (you have to go to jury selection first) don't remember which but I am sure small business owners are in that group. There are also certain things you can say that would make them not want you and I will ask him what those things are (there are the obvious like racist jurors with a minority defendant). I know prosecutors don't like social workers (empathize too much with defendant) and also teachers as they turn the process into "their classroom" including the deliberation.
