    Seriously?!!

I have a 2 yo dcb who has been home the last 2 days with the flu. His dad dropped him off late this am and on the way out the door said "he did get sick on me at about 1 am, let us know how he does." then he left....wtf?! I have a 24 hour symptom free policy and 1 am?! that was only 6 hours ago. What would you do?

Call him back and tell him to pick him up.

Not to be harsh, but do you really want the flu over the long weekend? If it's in your contract they can suck it up. Tell them dcb isn't really participating or that he's crying a lot or saying he feels sick.

Call him, remind of sick policy and tell him that the child needs to be picked up ASAP. I would say it is part of my responsibilities to not expose the other children to sickness.

Call and insist they collect right away and give them a verbal warning that this is not only breaking the contract but the way dad went about it makes it clear they new this and we're intentionally trying to pull one over on you.

DCB said his tummy hurt then had diarrhea. I called the mom, she works closer (they are separated). She apologized and said dad didn't tell her that he was sick last night. Parents drive me crazy. Why infect 4 other kids?! I find it hard to believe that he didn't have diarrhea before drop off (since he was late, I bet he did).

Sorry to hear that Shannie, I hope he gets picked-up and you have a better less stressful day. I had a dcb who had the flu and my kids and I got it, but disinfected really well and so far so good, none of the other dck got it! Hopefully a good cleaning will stop it from spreading.

His mom did pick him up and I tried to contain him to the table so I din't have too much to disinfect. Anything he touched went into my disinfecting bucket. I sure hope no one else gets this. Just in time for Easter!

Well I'm glad he said that comment for you to have stopped and called mom. Because I can only imagine the mess you would of had if he hadn't...yikes.

Have a great weekend! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that no one else catches it.

A few tips...

Always ensure that your child receives quality care by taking the time to investigate the provider and by asking for references! We simply cannot verify the claims of every daycare provider.
Updates
We expect providers to keep their listing and available openings up-to-date. However, to prevent oversights, openings expire after 45 days.
