I hope admin for this forum is seeing these posts and there are ways to trace the email address. I am going to hope this is someone who has hacked our forum just to cause trouble and the story isn't true. Either way the police need to be involved.

I agree with mom-in-alberta! I believe a child does need the love and cuddles and so on, but I'm sorry to the other ladies but I've seen first hand how much harder the transition is for a child who has been held most of their life rather than allowed to be independent to a degree from the beginning. The child who was held will, like this little girl, scream and cry like nut all the time nd have major separation anxiety with no other way to express it. I had a child in my care who was carried all the time in a carrier while her mom did literally everything (ie house work, walking on the treadmill, doing paper work in the office, etc.) and this child screamed as if someone was trying to injure her all the time. On the other hand I've had many children who's parents did not carry them all the time, a lot yes but not as much as some, and they were very self confident and trusting babies even from 6-9 months on. Their parents could drop them off without a peep or at the worst they would cry for no more than 5 minutes.

Just give this little one some time and encouragement but I would not suggest picking her up from the play pen as this will just continue to reinforce that if she cries long enough and loud enough she will get exactly what she wants and before you know it she's using it to her advantage and against you for everything! But of course this is just my opinion from personal experience in child care for over 15 years and raising my own two girls who neither were carried 24/7 like some and are both now very self confident and happy girls!!

A few tips...

Always ensure that your child receives quality care by taking the time to investigate the provider and by asking for references! We simply cannot verify the claims of every daycare provider.
