Thanks for all your valuable input to this online community of daycare providers. I commend you for your honest post. To be an amazing provider, more than just the necessities, it quite often comes at a personal cost. I hear you on so many levels. Losing yourself as an individual outside of the role as caregiver, lack of adult social interaction and the negative impact these things can have on ones family are all what I'm experiencing too after nearly 9 years. The hard work that's involved in being self employed and running this business is hard for sure but rewarding and the lessons learned are invaluable. Gravy train I wish you the best in your new path. I have to say that I'm the anomaly here and quite enjoy providing daycare (most days!?) but that may be because I opened my daycare when my sons were almost out of the house and I had less responsibilities.
