Grumbling complaint.
My feelings are hurt. And it's so menial and dumb, and I know this so I don't need any advice or "I told you so's" because I simply need to get this off my chest with ladies who understand.
Last year our friends underwent some financial strife and pulled their daughter from her centre care and put her in my care. I gave them a discount (so 2 strikes against me already, eh? Friends and discount, lol)
While when we hang out it is amazing and we have so much fun, our daycare relationship has been difficult for me when I 100% thought it was going to be great.
They have been my most difficult family to date:
- Picking up late (paying my late fee no problem, but late nonetheless and with a 5 min before closing warning, ugh)
- Paying late
- Not arriving ready for the day (no bag, long sleeves on 35 degree days, not sunscreened)
- Not responding to communications despite repeated requests to respond to emails so that I have a receipt that they have read and understood the info provided
- Questioning days I need off
- A general air of disappointment
All things that I would have issued warning letters followed by termination for.
So, we have dealt with these things along the way, but it has been awkward for me.
Anyways, last night I get an email that they wish to move dck's last day to the end of July instead of towards the end of August "to save some money". I understand that their family's financial issues are what comes first for them. I'm just in a general state of feeling sorry for myself because I feel I put up with a lot, gave them an incredible discount, and now they're withdrawing dck from care even earlier after we had explicit conversations about when dck's last day would be so I could create a start date for upcoming newbies so I don't lose money in between.
And the kicker? I was speaking to another dcb's mom this morning about when his last day is going to be, and I mentioned dck's new last day and the mom responded: "Oh yeah, she told me last week, I was surprised!" So, thanks a lot FRIEND that I'm the last to know.
Just kind of hurts, has put me in a funk, and needed to get it all out!
Thanks if you managed through my whining! LOL
