Honestly if you cannot do it anymore then it is OK to just say it isn't working. I had this happen once before and I felt so bad and defeated. I didn't even wait the 2 weeks though, I was done after day 3! I was already the 2nd daycare, the first one only lasted 1 day. The third daycare he was in worked. Some kids just don't work in some settings. Don't feel bad. Think of it this way, you gave it a good shot but you have other kids to think about. How would you feel if your other parents gave notice because of this child? It is always a possibility.

Do what feels best for you - keep going and see how long it takes to get better (eventually it will be it could be weeks or months) or throw in the towel - all up to you.

    Good luck with your decision.

Just termed one of these (Dad was not working and after 3 weeks of non-stop crying we all agreed better to keep her home); I can't express how nice things are now. I wish you much luck!
    Children are great imitators.
So give them something great to imitate.

If it were me, I would try to hold out a bit longer. Typically I expect 2 weeks for transitioning but a one year old is young and may need longer to adjust. It's a big change for a little one! If I was seeing at least SOME improvement, I would tough it out a bit longer.

If you are done though and you don't think you can safely care for him and the others anymore than there is nothing wrong with telling the parents this and asking them to find another daycare.

It all depends on your stress level. But if you feel like it is affecting you and the other kids, terminate. I mean, it could get better -- likely it will -- but it's not worth it if it is too stressful. And trust me I am not judging! I've been there.

If you visited or if you're using a childcare provider found on DaycareBear, do not hesitate to leave a review. This will most certainly help other parents!
