Oh my goodness, nerve racking for sure. I am wishing you so much luck teagansmom, I hope that it's over quick and with the best possible outcome so you can move on with your life. Fingers crossed for you...hugs!!
Good luck!!!! A quick word of advice, for what it's worth (I did a fair bit of court room time in a nasty, nasty divorce and lawsuit). Don't be demonstrative. Don't make physical gestures to indicate your displeasure about what anyone is saying. Less is more and understated is the way to go...at least that was my experience. Those who sit and shake their heads and 'appear' to be upset tend to (again in my experience), for lack of a better term, annoy the judge. I did not work well for my ex anyway!
make sure you are dressed in a manor appropriate for court. have a documents organized a tabed so when you need something, you wont have to fumble looking for it. also have all of your points written out on cuecards, and attached with each supporting documents( careful with paperclips, if you drop stuff all you paper work might get jumbled. make sure you have a pen and paper with at least two pens. make notes. and smile.
If you visited or if you're using a childcare provider found on DaycareBear, do not hesitate to leave a review. This will most certainly help other parents!
