haha, thanks!! Sometimes I think we would be great parents and than other times I think I'm okay being childless lol. It's a really tough decision for me and I turn 29 tomorrow so I feel pressure to decide soon

We've actually gone to a specialist but they are 2 hours from us. We had 4 or 5 different appointments with them but have only seen the dr once. She CONSTANTLY reschedules. As you all know, we don't really have that luxury in this job to take days off whenever we need. I felt terrible inconveniencing the parents that many times (some took days off and than I ended up staying open and closing another day) and knew that I couldn't keep doing that. We had a follow up appointment scheduled for Feb and she rescheduled back in Dec/early Jan maybe? We decided than that we could no longer see her as both of us do not have jobs that allow us to switch days off constantly.

We are still at the "if it happens, it happens" stage. I am PRETTY sure it won't happen naturally but who knows really. I will work with my family doctor and am going to see a doctor in my city, that many people have had success with getting pregnant, when I'm ready. She is a chinese doctor and uses traditional chinese medicine to my knowledge.

I am open to adoption (once we fully decide that is what we want) but my husband is still unsure on that route.

I don't have a huge desire one way or another so I find it very stressful at times because I feel I should have made a decision by now. We have discussed it and we both say we are okay with not having children....but than other days we are like "wouldn't it be nice to xxx with our child". I just don't want to turn 50 and than regret not having children you know?

    Sorry for my ramble...

Amanda...I hope you feel better soon!! It was on here that I heard about turmeric (maybe it was you Sparks who told me about it too lol) and I took it in pill form for a couple months. It did seem to work for awhile but I slowly went back to my prescription pain meds. I try to cook with it every now and than but I have a terrible memory and usually forget lol. I hope it works for you....it's worth a shot!

We struggled to conceive at first. We tried for over a year then consulted a fertility Dr. The reason we never got pregnant was because I have psoriatic arthritis and I had to be off my meds to try and conceive (and as a result was on a lot of pain). I was referred to a specialist that specializes in autoimmune diseases and pregnancy and he explained to me that your body will almost never conceive when you are in pain because it is the body's natural way to protect itself (natural selection). He got me on medication that was safe during pregnancy, I felt better and quickly got pregnant. Just thought I'd throw that out there as I know you have back issues.

A friend of mine tried for 2 years to get pregnant, then went for sessions of accupuncture and got pregnant! Her cycle was totally messed up and the accupucture fixed it. It worked so well that their second child was an "oops" and totally not planned. That accupuncture and chinese medicine is so amazing. It helped my mom with her menopause symptoms too. I am a believer!

That's very interesting!!! I have OA in my back and have been on pain meds for at least 3-4 years. I went off birth control 3 January's ago now. That could very well be an explanation...I will talk to my doctor about it!! Thanks

Altho, if I have to go off my pain meds, I don't know what my decision would be. I already worry about getting pregnant and than not being able to take them for the 9 months.

I was on a couple of meds including NSAIDS. I can't walk without medication. The NSAIDS have to stop in your 3rd trimester but the other ones I was on I could take the whole course of the pregnancy.

I am currently off of the good stuff and on "safer meds" so we can try for number 3. I have to wait another month to ensure the other meds are completely out of my system.

I don't know if any of you ladies struggling with inflammation have tried this...
Last summer I developed "water on the knee" which did not subside after 4 months and I had to have it drained and have a hydrocortisone shot put in to prevent it from coming back right away. I felt it returning recently and started looking up natural remedies for inflammation. I found information about beef bone broth, that it can be very beneficial... I bought some beef bones from my local butcher shop and made homemade broth in my slow cooker. It has a very greasy, gelatinous texture but tastes okay. Anyways, I found that after drinking the broth regularly that my knee pain went away. I am not sure if it's all in my head, but it seems to help. Just thought I'd share in case it can help you.
