    Cleaner?

    What do u think?
We were thinking of hiring a cleaner. Is ok if this lady(we know her well)comes in during daycare hrs? It be in the am. We'd play downstairs then switch when she's done upstairs.

I think that is fine. I'd send a note home stating that to help you spend more time engaged with the kids you are hiring a cleaner. Mention you know the person and that she will be coming during the morning. She will never be left alone with the children and will have minimal contact since you will remain on different floors.

    Agree with above.

Just want to add though, that you are missing all the awesomeness of having a cleaner if the kids are there. You'll never get to come home to a clean house as they'll mess it up before the end of the day!

I love having a cleaner!!! I just get my upstairs cleaned and clean the daycare space myself. I like going upstairs to a clean home!!!!

Just realize the last thing they will do is wash floors so will be wet when you need to switch

My cleaner used to come 9-11 and it was never a problem. We stayed out of the way or went outside when she did the daycare. I actually don't remember if I told parents about her but I'm sure it would have come up from time to time as I do remember a parent asking what she charged. It would be a good idea to mention it though.

I had 2 weird cleaners....talked more than they cleaned and were both unreliable. I ended up cancelling them both and haven't rehired a new one yet but I do kind of miss it. I'm lucky that my husband does most of the deep cleaning though!!!

A few tips...

Always ensure that your child receives quality care by taking the time to investigate the provider and by asking for references! We simply cannot verify the claims of every daycare provider.
