The only thing to do really is to just leave him. Especially if he doesn't seem to like being consoled....not much else you can do. Reassure him verbally, go on with your day as best you can. At naptime, leave him even if cries, checking on him and reassuring him every 15 mins or so. I know it's tough though, hang in there!
