    Oakville part time/occasional care options

    Hi,

I am a registered nurse looking to drop to part time, however the tough thing about nursing is that my hours are all over the map which means part time does not mean every Monday and Tuesdays etc.

I am looking for a daycare provider that is flexible, and able to take a child only 1-2 days a week. I understand this is tough because my child takes up a possible full time spot. If there are any ideas on how to find such a flexible provider, please let me know! My son will be 18 months when the transition happens.

You are right, this is very hard to find for the reasons you mention. My suggestion would be to go with a babysitter or 2 that you can call upon when you need someone OR find a home daycare that specializes in shift workers. You might be able to find a provider that usually only takes 3 or 4 kids and wouldn't mind the occasional addition of your son as they wouldn't be over ratio. Not sure who this magical person is though!

    Good luck!
