I get paid stat days (11 per year) and that is it. I charge by the day, they pay 2 weeks in advance. Any closures due to my sickness or holidays are unpaid. I usually only take 10 days off scattered throughout the year.
One thing I will be including in my new contract effective in December is I want a paid day off yearly to take my CPR course.
I don't think I would get too many families if I charged for holidays or sick days. Just not normal in my area.
