Thanks everyone I appreciate all the great feedback!!
I'm going to amend my contract for April and Im thinking rather then taking a week vacation paid I'm just going to scrap the monthly rate and start charging by the day.
I have had the same family's for 3 years now, hopefully they will see and understand why I'm doing this. It's not fair for anyone to work days for free...

If your current families have all been with you for 3 years it sounds like it might be the perfect time to make this change. I assume you will be needing to fill their spots soon if they will be going to Kindergarten in September so you can also start a fresh with this new pay schedule when interviewing new families.

A few tips...

Always ensure that your child receives quality care by taking the time to investigate the provider and by asking for references! We simply cannot verify the claims of every daycare provider.
