On Jan 1st note kms on car. On Dec 31st note kms on car. It simple.

January 01 kms = 10,000 December 31 = 20,000 mean 10,000 kms driven in the year.

Day care receipt kms's add up to 5,000, that means 50% of kms iS daycare and 50% is personal. Can claim 50% of annual gas costs, insurance, maintenance, winter tires, parking, plate registration. It simple.
