The rates for daycare vary widely in the province and arw based on location. It could be as high as $60 per day in Toronto and as low as $25 per day in other areas.
I have a centre and I plan on becoming licensed and opening around Jan. I plan on having kids ages 21/2-5 and I am going have healthy nutritious food catered for them that meets all requirements. I am located in central Etobicoke. How much should I charge for the children? I was thinking $50. It will go from 7am-6pm.
It isn't that easy to get licensed. It can be up to a 2 year process to get the license and a lot of money upfront by the time you buy, renovate and meet all the requirements for the centre. You will need to contact the ministry of education to find out exactly what you will need to do and then that might determine what you want to charge in fees to try and recoup some of those upfront costs.
Always ensure that your child receives quality care by taking the time to investigate the provider and by asking for references! We simply cannot verify the claims of every daycare provider.
