    It's official - I'm closing!

Well, I gave my daycare families notice on Friday that I will be permanently closing my daycare by the end of the June. They were surprised, but totally understood that I am having health problems and that I can't continue on with the daycare. The pain in my hands and feet continue, though I am going for (very painful) athletic therapy on my lower legs as a Sports Medicine Specialist diagnosed me with very bad shin splints & tight calf muscles as the source of the pain in my feet. So hopefully this will actually make a difference, because nothing else has helped!

But I am looking forward to closing and moving on to new things. I am going to be teaching at a Lego summer camp part time during the summer, and just hanging out with my 2 daughters the rest of the time. Then looking for a job for September, most likely a combo of substitute teaching and teaching Lego classes & birthday parties.

So yeah, my home daycare career has been cut short...but C'est la vie! :-)

Sounds like a fun summer! That's great that you should be starting to feel better now (or in the near future).

A few tips...

Always ensure that your child receives quality care by taking the time to investigate the provider and by asking for references! We simply cannot verify the claims of every daycare provider.
Updates
We expect providers to keep their listing and available openings up-to-date. However, to prevent oversights, openings expire after 45 days.
