In the UK we are advised to avoid foods rich in Vitamin A besides fruits and vegetables. So Liver and pate are an absolute no no along with fortified dairy and cereals which usually has additional Vitamin A in it! Also, any skincare products containing retinol. Retinol is the pre-formed Vitamin A which is essential synthetic which is high risk in pregnancy for birth defects. Carotenoids are naturally occurring vitamin A which is generally found in fruits and vegetables and is in pregnancy supplements as beta-carotene which is okay
