    Confused!

    Good day to you all,

I am confused about the child ratio, my child is 9 and in full time school (except summer) Children so far attending my new day home (in Sept) are also in fulltime school with 1 in kindergarten so they wont be here all day except pd days ect. Does my child count in the only being able to have 5 kids in my care? or does that only come in effect during summer?

Including my child (9) and 2 kids attending her school grade (also 9 maybe 10), I have 1 attending kindergarten (5) and I in grade 2 (6 or 7)

So does this mean I am already at the max amount of kids I can have???
Any help would be great, I am in Calgary so not sure if all the Ontario info pertains to where I am
    Thanks in advance

Ontario laws are just that - for Ontario only. Home daycare laws vary by province, you'll need to look into what the laws are in Alberta.

It look like in Alberta you can have 6.

    I found this. http://humanservices.alberta.ca/fami...day-homes.html

    It say that :

"In Alberta, a family day home must be approved by a contracted family day home agency and abide by the provincial Family Day Home Standards. These programs offer you the option of choosing quality child care that is provided in a home-setting. These child care providers are recruited, trained and monitored by a contracted family day home agency to help ensure the safety and well-being of each child. Child care providers that operate an approved family day home program can care for a maximum of six children, including their own.

People who offer child care out of their homes, that have not been approved to operate under the provincial family day home category, are considered private babysitters. These programs can offer private babysitting to up to six children, not including their own, at any given time. These programs are not monitored to help ensure the safety and well-being of the children."

    I am also in Calgary.

If you are a registered day home (i.e., with an agency) you can have 6 children aged 12 and under including your own.

If you are not registered (i.e., privately run), you can have 6 plus your own.
