    Bad day

All of the kids are getting over being sick or are sick. I'm not feeling too hot today myself. I am so close to just sending them all home though!

I had my handful freak out while painting and throw paint, hit me and the other kids. I am at my wits end with this boy. He definitely is getting better and has some good days but he is a great deal of stress. I can't leave his side for a minute which is exhausting.

Another one has been really challenging and super whiny lately. The parents are finding this at home too. EVERYTHING is a problem for this kid right now.

Another one is super sweet and my savior at the moment. He is going through a fierce independent streak which is manageable.

My DCG is going through a biting phase. This only happens occasionally but because it is so random and unpredictable it can be hard to prevent. She is getting shadowed as well.

My daughter has been amazing. Its funny because when my eldest was in DC with me at this age, she was my most challenging.

We are TV free and I tried sitting them with a movie hoping for a break but it has been a disaster. The movie lasted all of 3 mins before they were lost interest.

Fed them an early lunch and now I am just praying for a good nap time.

Oh I hear ya. We all have days like that.

I will say that since 2 boys left in October things have been amazing here. The 1 boy that is still here has his moments but the constant fighting between him and the other 2 boys is done. I have replaced 1 spot with an old daycare girl who was gone for a year. She is such a great kid (minus the mini meltdowns at nap when she wants her mom). My infant is fully adjusted. They play so absolutely wonderful now compared to the last group. As much as I was sad to see the others go it was certainly the much needed change I needed to enjoy this job again.

    Hoping your day gets better!!

I hope they all had a good nap for you and that your afternoon was better. I have a challenging group right now too. The three youngest, 18 mths; 21 months and 25 mths think that it is funny to scream at the top of their lungs multiple times a day and when they want something. One of the 3 yr olds is just an angry child that argues over everything. The part time 3 yr old is not too bad. I am so glad it is Fri, it has been a long week.

I wonder how much I can attribute this to the time change too? I have just found the last 3-4 weeks exhausting. We had mild hand and foot go through the daycare and they have all had a cold with these horrible coughs and runny noses. They slept well however, the baby when she woke up just started screaming! She does not wake up well at all. She is a good sleeper but when she is up she just screams.

I was glad a lot of the parents didn't ask a lot of questions about their child's day because I really suck at not just off loading on them. I just said it was a challenging day for all of them and I am glad its the weekend.
