Are any of you charging more for infant spots? If so by how much more?

I know some people are debating charging more come January ($5 or so per day). I think a better option is to just raise your rates for any new families that come in now and keep your old families at the old rate. That way, you don't need to decrease their fee when they turn 2 yrs old and you are still being compensated.

I charge same for all. Every stage have special requirement. Infant need more assistance on day to day task like shoes, feeding, diapers. Toddler need more assistance on toilet train, learn how hold pencil, Preschool child need more assistance on letters, numbers.

Plus, I not want deduction in pay when infant reach 18 months. I be doing same level of care as I was doing week before they reached change so why have higher rate for before 18 month and then lose $5 a day when that age reached?

Flat rate for space which not change as child age does mean my income only affected by vacancies.

Suzie that was a great point! In my area some providers are doing this ONLY because the spots are more rare to come by with Bill 10. I have not done this but have been thinking about it and if I do it will only be for future clients.

Ranges from $45-75 depending on where you are in Toronto. My area is $55-65

OK. How about a part-time rate? See... I lost all my kiddos this week!!! In a pickle... I cared for one fam of 3, and now they decided to have a fam member take them. I am back to advertising. I cared for a teacher and was open school year only and now I am no longer. I am getting a lot of inquiries for PT care like 2-4 days per week. Most are siblings like 3 yrs and 9mos. Little stressed and looking to fill the spots as soon as I can. Wasn't expecting this!

I charge the same for part time regardless if they come every day or not as its a spot taken up and it's hard to fill in the other days. I charge the same for every age expect for under 6mths is 5$ a day more.

You charge for the full 5 days, is that correct?
