    Sick?

    Any thoughts?

My 2.5yr old has been complaining of being cold for 1.5weeks now. It doesn't matter what she is wearing, if she is snuggled into bed she is saying "my very cold" in a whimpery voice. She has had no fever at all. She has never been the type of kid that runs cold or complains about temperature.

A few days after this started she caught a cold. Nothing seriously, it mostly ran it's course but she still has a touch of runny nose. She is currently a sobbing, whiny mess.

I am pretty sure it is related to the fact that my husband is now out of country for work and she is upset. But I don't get the complaining about being cold.

I was wondering if it was just a way to get attention. She is upset about something and uses that as a way to express it. But I have been trying to ignore the complaints so they aren't getting her extra attention but she hasn't stopped complaining about being cold.

Anyways, point of my post. Should I just try and ignore it and give positive attention when possible and see if it passes or could it actually be something and i am ignoring it by assuming she just had a cold and is now upset that daddy is away?

Starting to wonder if we should make an appointment with her doctor.

I'd look into it just to ease your mind. I know a little one who had poor circulation and was always cold and another who had low iron and other low levels that made her cold. All easy fixes.

Thanks babydom. Will make an appointment. As usual if i bring her in she'll be fine :-) I hadn't thought of low iron and such.

Doesn't hurt to rule things out. Iron/circulation/hemaglobin/thyroid.. It might be nothing, but you never know.
