    Boxing day.

So in my contract it states I have christmas break off paid. Which I consider christmas eve, Christmas day and Boxing Day. Since boxing day is on a Saturday can I absorb that day on the Monday? (28th).

What are all you ladies doing? I'm in Alberta if that matters.

I don't get paid vacation only stats so the more paid stats I can get the better.

I take a paid replacement day when a stat falls on a weekend. I'm doing Monday as Boxing day.

I fell this mistake when I first opened. I now have in my contract that if a stat or public holiday listed as a closed day is on weekend, I will be closing next business day too.

I am taking Christmas Eve as the alternative to the stat. My contract states if it falls on a weekend I will take an additional day that I choose

Be careful. The allowing of different day when stat on weekend is part of Labour Standard which is Employment Law. But we self-employed and it not apply to us. If your contact not state that you close on different day when this happening, then it not something entitled to. Some client will be good about it if you made error, and some, not so good. If you have a tricky client, be ready for some objecting.

I have it in my contract that I specifically close for Boxing Day and that if it or any stat lands on the weekend I take the next weekday off. Also Boxing Day isn't a stat so I would make it clear that I take I take it off.

Yes Boxing Day is not an actual stat. My contract states it is a paid day off and that if it falls on a weekend I will take the following Monday or previous Friday off. With Friday also being a stat I am taking the Thursday (Christmas Eve).

I did have one dad go on and on once about how it is not a real stat blah blah blah! That's when I changed my contract to read paid day instead of stat
