    And so it begins!!!

So, I started a new dayhome girl on the 1st after many red flags and issues. First day was given 30 days notice. Many of you ladies predicted issues with this family....you were sooooo right!! Yesterday dayhome girl was super stuffed up. Barely ate and gagged on her lunch to the point where she puked. She also kept lying on the floor and napped for 2.5 hours. I let mom know and she picked her up half hour early. At pick up she told me that the girl wasnt feeling well the night before and puked a little before bed....gee...thanks for the heads up. Today she was dropped off. I asked how she was feeling and was told that when they got home she was completely fine, not stuffy at all but had a rash and was given benydryl (she has ecema so she has red skin patches everywhere anyways. She said its strange because it was only here she was sick. totally contradicting what she told me at pick up yesterday!! not 5 minutes after drop of, dayhome girl sneezes giant snot balls and her nose has been dripping ever since. OMG!!!!!!

I feel like her words were prepping me for an excuse to leave my care, as in she is allergic to my dog or something (which can't be the case because they have 2 shedding dogs at their house) and I vaccum every other day.

ugh...advice please. I am thinking today she will slowly go downhill with her cold, as most of us do. And it wouldn't surprise me if the kid was medicated before coming.

    What is your sick policy?

If a child throws up here, they are to be picked up ASAP, not allowed here the next day and not until 24 hrs has passed since the LAST throwing up episode.

Just this morning I got a text that a dcb threw up in bed at midnight and mom is keeping him home. I can not have a houseful of kids throwing up. Thankfully I was closed yesterday so hoping it doesn't spread over the weekend

That's my policy as well, however this girl only puked at my house because she couldn't breathe and gagged on her mouthful of food. I didn't know about her throwing up the day before until pick up yesterday, so it has now been over 24 hours. Poor thing has a ridiculously bad cold.

With puking the night before, it's hard to say if she only puked due to gagging. I'd request that she not be here today.

If they can't participate in our activities due to not feeling well, that is reason for pick up too here.

I agree ... I don't care why they puked because lets face it parents can come up with some very colourful reasons why their child threw up but they are excluded from care the next day .

Next time I will definitely be calling for pick up no matter what the reason is for puking. I just don't like insinuating that she is only sick at my house when she told me yesterday she was sick at home. And she is clearly sick again today. She's yawning already and when I did school drop off almost fell asleep. Poor kiddo. I'm thinking a nap after snack time. I woke her after 2.5 hours yesterday. I guess she usually only naps for 45 minutes. sick sick sick. not allergic to something in my home

Yes puke means go home! If she is so sick that she cannot participate in a full day of activities they also need to stay home

I have to keep a daily log of our day, even if i only write who came that day. In this case, I'd be writing down everything mom said that day, so you have a record of it all.
