For me, the school is just down the way and the children are older, so are ok to do the 2 minute on their own.
I have a mom who is trying to figure this out for her daughter in 2 years. Mom will be on mat leave when the older one is in kinder so that works great but when she's in grade 1 mom asked if I could watch her before and after school. She said I didn't need to worry about transportation as the school is literally a 2 min walk from me and they'd let her walk that alone. I thought that was great that they are planning on teaching and giving her that responsibility. There's other issues to factor so I'm not sure if I'll do it but it's nice to know that they don't expect me to do school drop off and puck ups!
