A fever is a fever and regardless of parent view, unless they doctor, they only presuming temp is caused by teething. I had little girl her Christmas who mom keep saying it from teething and then I find out that whole family off sick with stomach flu. I asked her since both teenager home with vomiting and diarrhea, and her husband also home with same, that her first logical explaination for fever was teething not stomach flu which knock rest of family on their butt.

I do not get into why there is a fever with parent. Some will lie and say teething like we idiot. Some will be in denial and say teething as it more convenient. Here if they have fever, they go home.

I also have that I have final say in if child fit enough to attend. They must be able fully participate and they must be symptom free for at least 24 hour without use of meds, before they return. I not give any over counter meds, ever. Unless it been prescribed by doctor, with clear instruction from pharmacist on label with child's name and doctor's name, they not get meds here. It insurance liability otherwise. If someone think I need give their child meds which generally for fever, pain, to make it through whole day, then it clear that child not well enough to participate and need be home.
