    Did I miss something??? Help

Hello everyone, I just wanted to touch base and see if anyone knows anything or has heard any of the same. Hubby came home last night after work, told me he was listening to the radio and he heard something about daycares no longer being able to charge holding fees for spots and taking deposits, apparently this is supposed to take effect in Sept??? Am I completely out of the loop or has something happend and I am just not aware or did my hubby just not quite understand what was being said. Just wanted to check in with everyone else and see if anyone knows and thing???? Thanks for the help and input. On in Ontario here and not an agency or anything of that kind.

this is for licensed daycares. A lot of centres will charge a "waiting list" fee. So they take the parents money for a spot they might never give to the parents. The government is trying to put a stop to this.

This has nothing to due with independent home daycares since we don't charge to add a family to our waiting lists.

As for the deposit we can still charge that. The way I understand it is that they are don't want the centres to start calling their "waiting list" fee a deposit as a loophole.
