    Goodbye gifts

Do you give goodbye gifts? If so, what have been some of your favourites??

I've had children leave my care but this year, I have 2 kids going off to school. They've been with me for 2 and 4 years and I want to do something special. I have beach and pool days planned and we are taking them camping for a day at our camper where we'll have a piņata for them ( my husbands idea lol ) because it's going to also be a combined birthday party for the 2 but as a gift, I'm drawing a blank this time around as I feel it's a special goodbye.

The one idea I have is one I saw on Pinterest. It's Dr. seuss's book, oh the places you'll go. The idea is to have your child's teacher write in it every year end and than give it at grad. I thought I'd start it off and send home for the parents to continue. Even if the parents don't continue with it, it's a book and message from me still least.

Love that book and it's a great idea. I do goodbye gifts but I just get them a toy they are interested in or a board game or books if it's a school age child

I take pics of the kids while in my care, and compile a photo album of them for when each child leaves. I also buy a small educational gift like a book/puzzle etc and give a card from all the daycare kids.

I like to give a book and a home-made card so I write a nice message on the card and put pictures in it too . you will miss these 2 children- it is sad to see the long term care kids move on then we make room in our hearts for the new children

I give a photo album of the child while they were in my care, and a present, based on the interests of the child at the time. I really like your book idea.

I take SO many photos but am terrible at getting them developed. I need to get better at that since I do like the album idea

I am planning on taking the photos from this past year and putting them on a thumb drive for the parents, from that, they can get them printed if they want.
