Warts

Do any of you have a policy in your health contract regarding having warts treated?
I have a toddler in care with 2 warts on the palms of hands. The child is still in the phase of touching anything/everything/hands in mouth/ then hands back on toys etc.
Considering the contagious nature of warts(I know because my kids used to have them) is it overstepping the bounds to ask them to have them treated by a doctor?

I should add they are palmar warts(the same as plantar warts with the black core in the middle) not the simple raised warts. With my kids, it took almost a year of doctor's treatments to get rid of them.

There are 2 resources I use for illness exclusion from daycare. They both say that there is no exclusion for warts. Warts are caused by a virus. Parents should consult a doctor.

I would love to get a similar resource from Canada, but the only one I know of is only in French. If anyone has a website with Canadian info, that would be great.

I don't think it's fair exclude for warts and I don't think it fair to ask any parent to seek treatment other than request but not demand.

A compromise may be that the wart must be covered. Can get fabric band aid which stick better on skin. Maybe parent be open to that?

my policy is: Your child can come to care as long as the wart is covered.
The covering must be on in such a way that your child can not remove, get to the wart in anyway.
