    (Ontario) EFFECTS OF CCEYA/LOST SPACES

    SEPTEMBER IS HERE!!!

Following a break over the summer months, CICPO is back at work. I know that CICPO isn't the 'favouritest' topic of discussion in this forum. However, there is absolutely no data about home daycares, which, as we all know, holds about 80% of the childcare in Ontario. As meetings happen across the country among the licensed stakeholders with political representatives and childcare advocates, it is important that we collect this important data to help secure a foothold in these discussions. Canada is moving toward a national framework. Be assured that this will only include licensed providers. This was evident in this week's Throne Speech. CICPO would like to do all it can to make sure that quality ICPs can take part in a childcare solution as viable stakeholders in the childcare community.

Please take a moment to fill in this short survey outlining the effect of the CCEYA on childcare spaces in Ontario. We are aware that many quality ICPs have, regrettably, already closed their businesses. Capturing this data is crucial in showing the effects of CCEYA on families, providers and the province. Please forward this on to them as well. A survey for parents will also be released later this week. Thank you!
