    It possible do before and after school care only. Demand will depend on if school or local organization also have it. Check own provincial regs for numbers and other requirement like insurance. I advice to get insurance even if not requirement because some insurance will void your own household policy if there is undisclosed business so any claim you make even if unrelated to day home can be declined if they not know about the day home.
    Always have contract. You providing service and taking money for that so it not matter if all day or few hours, you need to have contact outlining fees, sickness policy, open hours, if care offered on school closed days like storm day or in-service day or if this not available. And yes, you claim your expenses. The percentage of shared expenses like heat and water will consider the reduced hours of service.
