You cannot legally hold someone to a policy or procedure that they were not aware of.
I have the short version of all the policies and procedures in the handbook that the parents read and I also have a parent agreement that it in black and white for all parents to see and I go over the policies and procedures with them so there is no misunderstanding. it is also all covered in the handbook too .
I just don't need to show the 90 pages of the full long version of the policies and procedures to the parent Just the short version in the handbook where everything is covered and also the parent agreement. My parents pay in post-dated cheques so I never had a problem with financial loss in
running my daycare for over 15 years.
