emmaball do you work at his centre? It looks really beautiful!

I COMPLETELY agree. I do not feel it is appropriate to use religion as a teaching tool unless your daycare is specifically advertised as such. I do not run a religious daycare and feel that it is up to parents to approach these values as they see fit.

When I asked the question about guided activities I was referring more to activities that allow for developmental scaffolding with the children to help them progress in developmental domains such as fine-motor, cognitive, verbal etc.

I am Christian and I do agree. As I would have a real problem with someone teaching my little one about Muslimism, Hinduism etc… It is up to the parents & or individual to make up there own mind about there own path when they come of age.

Just like I would never get my daughters ears pierced as its her own body and when she is old enough and if she wants to make the choice to get them pierced or not pierced it is totally up to her.

Great, great, great! I'm so glad I've joined the forum today! Our centre has launched a new toddler program, and the activities we've been planning fall very well in what you all have described. Our families are generally happy to see the kids playing and feeling comfortable, so we haven't had much resistance to the program, but it is really nice to hear that the activities the children react positively to are also the ones recommended here. Thanks all!
