A bit late but, Happy New Year!! To you and all caregivers. Yes, hopefully vacancies get filled this new year.

I really love what I do, but this year unfortunately I'm losing three long term families at once (jk), and the probability on one more leaving following the older sibling to an after school centre care (which just got licensed for younger ages too). Leaving me with just two or one. I have noticed a huge difference from years ago when I used to have a waiting list and now nothing. I'm painfully thinking that it is time to close shop.

The last few years have been a real roller coast of feelings and emotions, it was at times depressing to work with all the negative media and proposed changes happening in the childcare business in Ontario.

Whit my families leaving this year it got me thinking, what else can I do? I love working with children I have been looking into the idea of working in a centre (the new ones that opened in my neighbourhood) benefits aren't bad but their pay is so low.

I'll keep brain storming. Any ideas?

A few tips...

If you visited or if you're using a childcare provider found on DaycareBear, do not hesitate to leave a review. This will most certainly help other parents!
