New member wanted to start a dayhome but I don't know where to start

    Hi,

I am a new member of this forum. I am from Alberta province. I really wanted to start a dayhome. My situation right now, was that my husband and I plan to buy a house and I wanted it to have a dayhome. It maybe takes time to have one but since we don't own a house yet, I want to know what to do. I don't know what are the qualification or requirements needed for me to do or to complete. I want to know what should be the first step so that by the time we can own a house, everything is ready hopefully.
Should I need to study for that as ECE / child care certification?
I hope someone could guide me. It would be much appreciated.

check out Running a High Quality Home Daycare Business

It has a lot of useful information about starting/running a home daycare.

every province has there own laws, you will need to look them up. the above website has the laws for Ontario home daycares. In Ontario you can operate a home daycare in a rented house if you have your landlords written permission.

A few tips...

If you visited or if you're using a childcare provider found on DaycareBear, do not hesitate to leave a review. This will most certainly help other parents!
Updates
We expect providers to keep their listing and available openings up-to-date. However, to prevent oversights, openings expire after 45 days.
