What would you do if given the choice??

In terms of lay out? Would you want your space layed out in sections, or mash up, or just a large play area? Trying to decide how to set up, and my brain is burned out with all of the possibilities. tia

I like defined spaces in a large daycare room otherwise it has a tendency to become a big old mess. My current daycare room is much smaller than I'd like, silver lining is we are forced to clean up regularly and limit the amount we have out at any given time. I can not have defined spaces as a result. In my old space I would have toy storage splitting up the room, my dream daycare would be half carpet and half vinyl so we could have water play and messy play indoors. Now I do that kind of thing in my kitchen along with mealtimes.

Given the choice, my personality prefers separate play areas and doesn't like the big "mess" lol

However, I know they better benefit from having no limits so to speak. (This doesn't mean no rules!!) It opens up their imagination and pretend play to be allowed to play what they want, where they want, how they want.

Due to space, we have an open play room. There's still areas but they are free to take toys anywhere and use as they please. If I had a bigger room, I'd have more defined areas though I think just because I like how it breaks up a large room (and cuts down on running! Lol)

We do clean up at least 2x a day though. Once before lunch and once before home time if we haven't gone outside right after nap

you could always change it if something doesn't work

How did your move go and have the kids settled into the new house?

I like using low furniture (3" tall, long storage shelves etc) to break up a large room into smaller play areas. It creates specific play zones and prevents kids just randomly running in circles but still keeps the room open and allows me to see everything.

Went really well kids love the new house and space. I have it right that our play room divided in to four areas, with a the centre area being a large run space.
