    Pools???? Kiddie pools???

Can private home daycars in Ontario have and use kiddie pools? I thought pools of any kind and trampolines weren't allowed because there have been deaths happened. But a local provider thinks differently and has her five swimming in a kiddie pool during the summer.

There is no law for private home child care regarding any size pools or trampolines. However, some insurance companies will not allow them at all, others depends on the size, where others don't care if you have them or not.

There is a law regarding the above mentioned for providers with a licensed agency.

So strange. I could have swore that a pool even a kiddie one has to be under a certain amount or u can't use them. Heard it after that death happened a couples yrs ago in a reg pool. But maybe I heard wrong and it's just for licensed daycares. Thank u!

It is allowed, the only catch is that any pool, even a tiny kiddie pool needs to meet all bylaws for pools (be fenced in with self locking gates etc). So, if it is left out, with water, they could be fined for breaking the by law. Our neighbors got in trouble for this some years back.
