Tupper Tots daycare center is located in a newly renovated facility on the second floor of the Villa Marconi centre. We are just off Baseline Road (near the south-east corner of Baseline and Merivale), across form the Experimental Farm, and close to Agriculture Canada. Elevator access is readily available for toddlers and children with special needs. We are situated in a residential area surrounded by various local parks, and close to the Fisher Heights community centre. Parking for drop off is free and ample.
Tupper Tots daycare is a not for profit, bilingual day care centre that has been providing quality childcare since 1994. We are fully licensed by the Ministry of Education, and are inspected regularly as part of our licensing requirements. Our day care is wheel-chair friendly, and we can offer services to special needs children. We are open to all families of Ottawa.
We have a program for toddlers (18-30 months) and two programs for preschoolers (30 months to 5 years). We have a chef on site, and provide hot, nutritious lunches , plus two large snacks daily that following the Canada food guide recommendations for children. Because we make our own meals, we can accommodate special dietary needs or restrictions as well.
Tupper Tots has separate play yards for the preschoolers and toddlers, with play equipment geared for each developmental stage. Outings to local parks within walking distance are also offered on nice days, generally once or twice a week. We also have monthly activities - a visit from a fire truck in October, and demonstrations from the Zoo Crew in November. Since we are located beside a long term care facility, we also interact with the seniors living in the Villa Marconi. A Halloween visit is already planned for October 31st.
We are open from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm, and provide child care on some government holidays, Family day, and between Christmas and New Year. We do offer some short term and part time spaces on a limited basis (subject to availability), and have limited subsidized spaces.
Our staff are long term employees, and are caring, ECE-certified professionals that provide a fun, interactive and educational experience for the children, and expose them to both English and French through reading, play and songs.
