Leaps and Bounds Children's Centre Renfrew is an incorporated non-profit, charitable organization that is operated under the direction of Arnprior Child Care Services (volunteer board of directors). We are located within St Thomas the Apostle Catholic School in Renfrew.
We provide a warm, caring and stimulating environment where children can learn through play in a safe, well organized environment. Our inclusive program is planned to ensure developmentally appropriate activities, which will promote social, emotional, cognitive and physical skills. The role of play is recognized as the way in which children learn about themselves, each other and their environment. Through play and first hand experience, children continuously explore and test ideas, building on them, so that learning develops progressively and naturally. Keeping in mind that some of the children enrolled in the centre attend school throughout the day, we try to balance the structure they experience in a school setting as well as opportunities for a relaxing, enjoyable environment. All the programs, from toddlers through school age have this balance during the day.
We believe that working together with our parents in order to meet the needs of the family as a whole, best helps us keep the interest of the children in mind at all times.
The teachers at Leaps and Bounds are Registered Early Childhood Educators and have current First Aid and CPR as well as a current criminal reference check. The experience of the staff is variable and diverse and each contributes to the planning and implementation of our program. |
