We know how precious your child is and in your absence endeavour to provide a safe and loving atmosphere. Each child is respected as an individual with his/her own need, interests and abilities.
At Chapel Place Daycare Centre, we affirm that a child’s early learning experience is very important. We will help each reach his/her maximum potential in all areas of development: physical, social, emotional, intellectual, creativity and spiritual.
We invite you to get involved in your child’s early educational experience whether it is by volunteering your time and/or talents for special events, or through membership on your Parent Advisory Committee.
We will teach and practice Christian Values and Beliefs. Bible stories and songs are part of our program; Christian prayers are said or sung before our snacks and lunch. We attempt to teach and model such values as kindness and respect for others.
OUR GOALS:
1. To encourage the development of a positive self-image by
treating each child as a special person with individual needs, interests, and abilities.
2. To render an opportunity for each child to take part in a program of educational play aimed at encouraging physical, social, emotional, intellectual, creative and spiritual growth.
3. To encourage each child to learn and practice Christian values.
4. To provide an opportunity for parents to take an active role in their child’s growth, development and early education.
5. To provide a pleasant and rewarding work environment for our staff.
6. We will manage the centre to give the best value for the money. We are non-profit and will aim to invest in quality that is affordable.
We strive to accomplish these objectives by providing high quality, affordable, flexible childcare in a secure, warm, loving Christian atmosphere.
Programme Statement
At Chapel Place Daycare we make every effort to provide an environment that promotes health and well-being for your child/ren. As outlined by the Ministry of Education’s Policy Statement in “How does Learning Happen?” we strive to build a program that fosters exploration through play and inquiry. Our pedagogical approach builds on strengths and abilities resulting in positive learning experiences for your child/ren. Using the ELECT document as a guide, it is our intention to facilitate learning and strengthen the development in your child’s overall health and well-being by setting goals and expectations that are developmentally appropriate in both indoor and outdoor play. The staff at Chapel Place Daycare understands the importance of a varied and flexible learning environment. Throughout our planning and documentation we are guiding our competent and curious learners to discover what works best for them. Whether we invite parents, extended family members or other community helpers into our classroom, we aim to create a positive learning environment. As a result, children are able to self-regulate, interact and communicate in a positive and co-operative way. Furthermore, communication and documentation is crucial in understanding “how children learn”. Through daily verbal discussions with parents, photos\videos and written documentation the lines of communications are established between staff and parents. Documentation for creative exploration is a tool used to ensure children are actively engaged, maintain a sense of belonging and feel safe enough for expressing any needs they may have. It is our intention to ensure that all new staff, students, and volunteers review the program statement prior to working with the children and at any time the program statement is revised.
We welcome and invite parents to work together with our staff so that every child’s individual needs are met. We thank you for choosing Chapel Place Daycare and look forward to working with your children |
