McLeod Community Early Learning and Child Care Centre is a program of Steele Heights Baptist Church that was founded to meet a gap in services for families in the McLeod Community. In 2007, the need for safe, affordable, and quality out of school care was identified by parents in the McLeod School Community. The result was McLeod Community Out of School Care; a low-cost elementary-based age group program, based on five components:
1. Improving Academic Performance
2. Developing Life Skills
3. Building Positive Relationships
4. Exploring the Creative Arts
5. Nurturing Young Faith
In 2019, we added an Early Learning Program to our centre and changing our name to McLeod Community Early Learning and Child Care Centre. Our programs are licensed by Alberta Children’s and Family Services and our Out of School Care program is accredited by the Alberta Association for the Accreditation of Early Learning and Care Services.
