Childcare provider: Julieobtained services from this family / home daycare, dayhome and I find that:
"As a first time mom considering daycare, I didn’t really know what I wanted for my little one. The options and opinions were overwhelming and it made it difficult to even know where to start. I had all these grandiose ideas of a Mary Poppins-like nursery for my kids, and didn’t see why that might be slightly out of touch with reality. One day, after seeing Julie post on our community group page, my husband and I decided that the best thing to do was to start meeting people. We set up a meeting and stopped by one afternoon. We were pleased with the set-up of a large play-area, a communal breakfast/lunch table for all the kids, and a warm home. Julie was receptive to my (many) requests (can’t we all be *that* mom sometimes?), and never made me feel like I was asking for too much and/or for anything outside of her realm of expertise and comfort zone. When I asked about cloth diapering, I was assured that she had done it before but could still learn a few things, however was happy to do that for me. When asked about documenting meals for my own sanity, she was also happy to do so. When presented with a request that may not have been the way she would handle things with her own kids, I was still assured that it would be ‘no problem’. We left that meeting pleased, but still unsure if this was ‘the one’. That evening, I thought about the fact that Julie’s hours were perfect for us, and how she was willing to do so many things that I’d heard others were not, and that amazingly, her rates were incredibly fair. I thought though, that you shouldn’t just visit one dayhome! No, you should visit them all! Then I thought a little more about how everything was great, what more could I want? I had found someone who would take care of my son, while I was at work, the same way that I would take care of him if I wasn’t. Why would I need to hold a daycare provider to a higher standard than I would hold myself? Surely, if I’m right for my son, then someone acting in my shadow should be perfect? Well, she was (and still very much is). Our little one LOVES Julie’s (and Julie herself)! We didn’t end up visiting any others, and don’t regret that for one second. To have a baby that comes home, every night, happy, healthy, rested, and with a full belly… I truly couldn’t ask for anything more. Choosing a daycare requires a lot of soul-searching, I’m glad that it led us here. We may have chosen Julie’s for our son, but he’s made it abundantly clear that we made the right choice."

"Julie is a great daycare provider - she takes care of my son as if he were her own, and he comes home every day happy as a clam! She feeds him healthy home-made foods. I highly recommend her!"
