I obtained services from this family / home daycare, dayhome and I find that:

"Pros:

- The daycare area is very good overall, the internal area has a small playroom for the kids, a kitchen and a room where they rest.
- The backyard is large and has toys for the children.
- The internal area is always clean.

Conss:

- You have to be at the daycare by 8:30 or they won’t accept your child. Besides being unusual, this was not informed by the daycare when we signed up and is not written in any on the rules of the daycare.
- They charge the same ($50/day) regardless the age of the children which makes it a little over average for children under 2.5 yrs old but way too expensive for children over that.
- They decide what they are going to for the day in the morning, so be used to not know where your child is.
- The owner takes the children to her mother’s home in North Vancouver regularly and according to Fraser Health they do not assess the place for safety. Besides being far, there is no guarantee the place is safe. Also, the address was never provided.
- Although the internal area is always clean. There is some hygiene problems with the children playing outside. One day when my wife arrived at the daycare to pick our daughter up. She saw a child drinking water from a puddle on the street. She mentioned that to the owner and the owner said that our daughter was also doing it and that it was good for the immune system. I don’t mind if the kids play and put the dirty hands in their mouth, but a puddle in the street can have brake fluid, lead, animal urine among other things which has nothing to do building up the immune system.
- I picked up my daughter completely soaked in a cold day from playing in the water. I questioned that since she has a muddy buddy overall. She owner said that she didn’t dress my daughter with the muddy buddy because was already the end of the day and it was not necessary (???)
- The children sometimes play in the front of the house which is not as safe as the backyard."
