+1 Childcare provider: Margaret

I obtained services from this family / home daycare, dayhome and I find that:

"BE AWARE:
I am the father of the boys mentioned. Margaret for all but the last 2 weeks of our experience was nothing shy of excellent. Extremely reliable and a very sweet person who definitely goes above and beyond.

However: During the last week of our agreed upon duration (stated clearly in writing months in advance) several contractual issues were brought up by Margaret. Despite the issues being more than a little subjective in nature I phoned her and went through the contract line by line attempting to resolve any issues and if she felt "outed" I wanted to make sure this was rectified. We agreed on a sum of money which I felt (and she agreed at the time) was an acceptable compromise. I liked Margaret a great deal, she bought my little boy a birthday present less than a month ago (to imply the relationship between us), I did not want to end this experience on a bad note when a compromise or agreement could likely be reached.

The following day I showed up for the service at the agreed upon time. Margaret accepted the cash (as per our discussion) and took my boys inside. As I removed some of my belongings (at her request as we were there for only one more day), she came out and again started talking about the contract. Admittedly annoyed as I had spent now no less than 4 conversations on this topic which ended in resolve (either through compensation or agreement). The most recent being the day before which involved combing the contract and arriving at the compensation which I had handed her less than 10 minutes earlier, I asked "what is it that you want Margaret. Just tell me and lets work this out." She replied by saying "Nothing." She then turned around, opened her front door and said "take your boys."

I had work in 30 minutes and she kicked my boys out of her home, took the money I had given her, refused a refund for the two days (pre paid) she would now not be offering the service, and shut her door.

A possible interpretation of this is that I had been difficult to deal with and broken the contract on many occasions. I can only offer my assurance that this is not the case and the common sense associated with "if that were the case, how did my boys remain at her service for a 6 month duration."

Also, my wife works in the 3D animation field. The industry is based on contract work. This is how we were able to define our time requirements so easily. Technically yes, she is now "out of work" however a more apt term would be "her contract has ended."
