"We couldn't be more happy with Cathy's daycare. She offers a healthy balance of structure and freedom for our daughter that has allowed her to develop her creative side, learn kindness and manners towards others, and build her confidence. We receive a text message mid-day everyday with an update on what our little one is doing, a photo of an activity, and the day's menu. The food she serves is healthy and has lots of variety, letting our girl try many different foods. Outside of COVID restrictions, Cathy takes the little ones on field trips to parks, farms, and activities (eg - storytime). Cathy is a very professional provider. She is responsive to e-mails/texts/calls. She adapts to requests. And quickly reports any concerns she has. Her home and yard are meticulously cared for and well equipped with a play structure, sandbox, and toys. I would recommend Cathy to any parent!"

"If you are looking for a daycare provider who will treat your child with kindness, look no further. Cathy is a thoughtful, patient and kind daycare provider who will make your child feel at home and help them grow in a fun and caring environment. She has shown nothing but love and care towards our son and we feel at ease when we bring him to her home. Cathy organizes fun activities and outings for the kids and has them outside daily (her backyard is incredible with toys and a play structure). She is a great communicator and always provides regular updates on our son’s day. Our son has thrived under her care and we appreciate all of the positive influence she has on him.

"We have been part of Cathy's daycare family since spring 2018 when our oldest turned one and will continue to have our youngest in her care until the transition to school in fall 2023. Our experience in sending two children to Cathy's daycare has been outstanding. She embraced them each individually in a loving, supportive environment and we have watched them grow and develop as a result. Cathy makes sure the kids are engaged in a mix of structured activities and free play on a daily basis with a focus on learning to be a kind friend and other appropriate developmental skills and behaviours. We highly recommend Cathy and are very grateful to have her in our family's life."

"My daughter has been at Cathy’s daycare for 5 months, and I can honestly say that this is the one the best things that could have happened for our family. It took us a long time to find a daycare that suited our needs and the needs of our bright, curious, and energetic 18-month-old. Our daughter was initially in a different caregiving arrangement (at a centre) and had a very difficult transition from home. Before she started with Cathy, unfortunately, she had already developed separation anxiety and was very sensitive to being away from me (her mother). When my husband and I first met Cathy, we immediately knew that she was exceptional and a class above all the other caregivers we had met – incredibly professional, kind, caring, and with an energy and zest for caregiving that is impressive. Under Cathy’s warm and loving wing, my daughter adjusted to the daycare and developed a strong bond with Cathy within a very short while.

"Cathy cared for our daughter for 2 years. She keeps a clean, bright and loving home. She provides healthy home cooked meals, fun/interactive activities and lots of TLC. Cathy has an excellent playroom set up and a great backyard with a play structure. The days are filled with arts and crafts, learning, activities and fun outings. The children do not watch television. She prepares the children for school by teaching them their numbers, the alphabet, colours, words, shapes etc. With Cathy’s help our daughter was potty-trained and said goodbye to her soother. Each morning and evening Cathy greeted us with a big smile and an energetic outlook. She is a lovely person. Our daughter was excited to go to Cathy’s every morning; it was her home away from home. We couldn’t have asked for a better daycare provider. (August 2016)"

"Cathy is exceptional on all levels. She has made the transition back to work a piece of cake for my 1 year old, and I. She provides a safe and caring environment where children can learn through play, and by interacting with their peers, in a respectful manner. She is well spoken, and polite, which is extremely important, since children learn a lot through observation. Her meals are very nutritious, well balanced, and varied. The children get to partake in a wide assortment of activities (park, splash pad, Experimental Farm, Aviation Museum, library story time, etc.), that are not only fun, but provide excellent learning opportunities. It is much appreciated that she helps our little guy during craft time, and doesn't exclude him because he is not as dexterous as the older kids. Cathy is also extremely approachable, and is open to answering any questions or concerns we may have. She is exactly what our family was looking for (and then some), and we are so glad to have found her services. A+!!!"

"My son is currently in the care of Cathy and we couldn't be happier. It took us a long time to find a daycare that we loved but it was well worth the wait. Her home daycare offers something that is above and beyond. She provides an enriching, caring environment for all the children. She takes the children to the library and to a music class on a weekly basis, and regularly to museums, the farm, to parks and special events offered by CCPRN. Our son constantly comes home with amazing art work which fits the theme of whatever they're doing that week; from holiday themes to animals to shapes and letters. He has learned so much from her and he is turning out to be the child he is, in large part due to her wonderful care. Cathy is kind, loving, organized and truly cares about my child! I feel very blessed to have my child in her care."

"Our daughter has been going to Cathy Bassi’s daycare for about two and a half years, and we are very happy with the care she has received. Almost every day, Cathy takes the kids to a fun venue or event like a museum, a music class, story-time at the library, the experimental farm, or a playgroup, and there are also plenty of seasonal outings to the pumpkin patch, the sugar bush, etc. Their time in Cathy’s home is spent doing crafts, playing, and learning the basics of letters and numbers. Cathy’s home is a clean, comfortable environment, and there is an extensive play structure in the backyard. Cathy takes great care in providing the children with home-made, nutritious, and balanced meals and snacks. Cathy is a very warm and loving caregiver, and she does a great job of preparing children for entry into Kindergarten by teaching them life skills such as dressing themselves for going outside, toileting skills, and treating others with respect and kindness. Her rates are reasonable, and comparable to other daycares in the neighbourhood. I recommend Cathy without reservation to anyone looking for high-quality home daycare."

"I highly recommend this care provider! She is warm and caring, a positive individual who maintains a calm environment for the children she cares for. She provides home cooked meals, healthy snacks and also ensures the activities are stimulating and age appropriate. In addition, she takes the children to music lessons throughout the school year. (Something busy parents don't have to worry about on the weekends)"

"Cathy is an outstanding caregiver. She is loving towards the children, organized and conscientious, and a great communicator with parents. She always has a smile on her face, lots of energy, and great ideas. She regularly takes the children on outings to parks, museums, libraries, children's entertainers, farms, and much more. Cathy has also helped our daughter with learning her letters and numbers, dressing by herself, toileting, and other important skills she will need upon entering kindergarten. Our daughter brings home a cute craft nearly every day. The meals Cathy provides for the children are healthy and balanced. She puts alot of emphasis on teaching the children to respect and care for each other. Her rates are totally reasonable and on par with other caregivers in our neighbourhood. I could go on and on about how wonderful Cathy is. We feel very lucky to have her in our family's life. Our daughter loves her. I would recommend Cathy to anyone who is looking for top-notch private childcare in Ottawa."
