"We are sorry to read your comments, however, all our policies are clearly stated in our Parent Handbook, which every parent receives prior to their child starting care with us. We inform every parent about the initial 2 week trial period within which both parties can withdraw care if they deem the child-care arrangements are not suitable for the child and the day care provider. Unfortunately, in some rare cases, situations cannot be resolved, e.g., a child's extreme and regular aggressive behavior where the entire group is affected.

Please note that all parents entrust their children in our care and it is our ultimate duty to safeguard ALL of the children as well as our staff, therefore eliminating any threats of hitting, biting and kicking that may occur by a child. These issues clearly are not normal behavioral actions and we had been providing these updates directly to you and your child's pick-up on a daily basis.

Our Centre does not offer subsidized spaces. If you expressed you needed more financial support, which you did not make us aware of until we read this review, we would have directed you to the nearest subsidized daycare centre that would have been more suitable.

"Upon enrolment of a child into the Centre, all of our parents are made aware of the policies and procedures of the Centre. This information is given out to all parents via our Parent Handbook that outlines all of our policies and procedures.

If a child is creating an unsafe environment for our other children, parents are informed and a meeting is held to go over goals and strategies that will be implemented so both parties are working together to rectify the situation. Unfortunately, there are a few situations where care is not suitable, and in these situations, both parties have the ability to withdraw from care.

Due to our COVID-19 shutdown, fees that were not utilized for care were returned to parents and all government regulations have been followed."

Provider's reply:

"I am Francesca, the owner of Munchkinz Preschool Inc. Our program is geared to provide stimulating and quality child care that is based upon the individual needs of each child.

Our centre ensures we hire Early Childhood Educators that have years of experience under their belt. We implement different strategies and techniques to see what works best for each child in our care. If we need to, we would also seek outside resources and provide referrals in an effort to meet the needs of every child in our centre in order to set them up for success. In this case, a need was identified by us and a referral was put in place by us, even though the child was in our care for only 3 days, which showcases that we do provide quality care for each child based upon their needs. It is however, the parents' duty to follow through on taking action at that point.

Our cause for termination of care policy safeguards the safety and protection of all of our staff and children in our care in threatening situations. There was a threatening situation that occurred and hence, termination of care was exercised in this instance.

All of our other reviews, which are positive, are from parents who have had their children in our care for years, which speaks for itself, and confirms that we provide quality care based on the individual needs of each child in our care."
