I obtained services from this daycare centre / preschool and I find that:

"I've never written a review for any business, but as a parent I could not resist telling other parents who are thinking of sending their child to CEFA Kingsway to find an alternative. Because each class has only 2 teacher for every 16-20 kids, the teachers are over worked and tired. They want your kid to know how to put her own jacket and boots on within the first 10 days because "we have too many children and we can't start helping all of them". There was one lead teacher and the assistant sort of dilly dallied around while the lead teacher looked really stressed out and didn't know how to delegate to the assistant. This system is too regimented for children so young. For the sake of your child's development, send them to a play based system. My extroverted/socal child cried for 10 days straight at CEFA, and is much happier with the new daycare we found. Not worth the money at all."

I obtained services from this daycare centre / preschool and I find that:

"Don’t even know where to begin. Child was enrolled for a total of 6 days. The gradual entry was horrifying. The teachers could not get the babies to stop crying the whole week! The lunches were under par. They didn’t follow the menu they provided and when asked why, the teacher said it was because their chef was on vacation. Serving sizes were tiny and when food fell on the ground, some teachers counted that as a serving eaten and recorded that in the log. I saw 1 attempt made to feed my child. After she refused that, she was given 1 cracker, broken in half, and her food was poured into the bowls of 2 other children; and before the principal comes on to dispute this, I saw this with my own eyes through the window in the observation room. Only one teacher spoke clear English. Teachers would argue about who should be doing what in front of the parents. Some teachers were very rude when talking to parents. I witnessed an argument over feeding a child, in which the parent said he needed more food and the teacher argued that he didn’t. I think a parent knows their child well enough to know when they need something. It’s not something a teacher can pick up in 3 days. Could see the frustration in the teacher’s faces when dealing with the crying children. The Baby classroom needed more help and I don’t understand why nobody was brought in to help with the transition. When you bring 9 babies into a new environment and strip their parents away all at the same time, it’s a recipe for disaster. The final straw was when my husband made a surprise visit to the school and watched as the babies played in the playground. All 3 teachers had their backs to my child, who was off in a corner playing by herself. My husband saw my daughter pick something up off the ground and put it in her mouth. Just as he was going to approach, a teacher turned around and saw and pulled it out. It was well worth the one month tuition loss for me to get my child out of Cefa Kingsway! We enrolled in a different Cefa location and are very happy with the Cefa program in general!"
