I obtained services from this family / home daycare, dayhome and I find that:

"Children are picked up and driven to school which is a bonus for parents that need that option. However, once the kids are picked up they are driven around town for an hour and a half to two hours and that is their nap time. If you have a K student or grade 1 student that is not in need of a nap they will get one anyway. Also based with this schedule, the kids are not getting lunch until after 2 - 2;30 so by the time you pick them up and go home and make dinner they aren't hungry. And bedtime......it becomes a nightmare because they have had a nap they didn't need and don't want to sleep until after 10 at night. By the end of the week on Absolute Daycare's schedule, your children will be cranky, completely off their schedule and almost impossible to deal with. After getting them back on track on the weekend you send them back to total disorganization again to start the process all over again.
Definitely wasn't something I was willing to put my child through. When asked if there was anyway to fix this...I was told no."

Provider's reply:

"I do provide Pick up and drop off to and from school if necessary, yes. However I can assure you that I do not have the children driving around in my vechile for 2.5 hours while they nap. Lunch is served at 11:30 am and naps are given (if required) after lunch, in beds provided by the center, children will then be woken up from their naps at the appropriate time to go get another child from school if necessary. If a child does not require a nap in their day, they are not forced to sleep but simple asked to partake in "quiet time" which is time spent reading, coloring, or watching a movie. I do not expect that all children take a nap, as some children do not take naps at home, but I do expect all children to have some down time or quiet time. A time to rejuvenate and prepare for the rest of their busy day! A healthy snack is served to the children at approximatly 3:30 PM everyday, but by no means would I feed a child lunch at that time. If you have a problem with something in my scheduling I am almost certain it can be discussed and hopefully rectified. I am not an unreasonable person and I do understand the different needs of different children."
